Experiential Marketing

The Sky’s the Limit at Infinity

Nov 2, 2007

When it comes to experiential marketing, it doesn't get much better than doing work for Donald Trump. That's what Infinity Marketing Team found out when the company was selected to be the official event agency for the finale of Trump's The Apprentice on NBC. Under a rushed deadline - what else with The Donald? - Infinity Marketing Team staffers helped craft a hugely successful comedy show/charity event for Yahoo.

"It was a lot of fun and a lot of pressure," said Infinity Marketing Team president Chad Tons, who appeared on the episode. "But it was similar to what we do for all of our clients, where we bring together all the necessary resources that make for a powerful event, even under tight deadlines."

The company - with offices in New York; Vail, Colo.; and Hawaii in addition to its headquarters in Hollywood, Calif. - has had brushes with fame before. When Fox wanted a movie premiere to remember for its Ice Age II, it turned to IMT. The result: Hollywood Boulevard was transformed into a winter wonderland in the middle of the summer, complete with an ice rink, ice pillars, man-made snow and snowmobiles.

"That's a good example of how creative we can get when we have a little bit of a budget," said Tons. "The sky, almost literally, is the limit."

IMT's latest challenge is a message promotion for longtime client Hewlett-Packard that targets small to midsize businesses.

As part of the campaign, potential customers will be able to demo HP ink-jet and laser printers as well as other cutting edge office equipment. Sounds fairly simple, right? Except that this effort will run simultaneously in about 1,000 retail locations across the country for several years.

"We like to structure these long campaigns that run over a period of time because they're a very effective way to show the client their return on investment," Tons said.

InfinityMarketing Team's 8,000 square foot YOU + HP EXPERIENCE campaign traveled to 60 U.S. events - conducting over 2million consumer product demonstrations and directly impacting $20million in HP product sales.
