Quigley Treks to Brunner Digital

The recently renamed Brunner Digital has hired Shaun Quigley in the new role of interactive practice director, responsible for the integration of clients' marketing strategies -- with digital solutions expressly included. The Washington, D.C., outpost, a unit of Brunner, Pittsburgh, focuses on digital-oriented marketing communications. Previously, Quigley managed the National Wildlife Federation account at Greenfield/Belser, Rockville, Md. Brunner is a $ 200 million independent advertising agency with 185 employees. Clients include GlaxoSmithKline, IBM, Dow Chemical, Golfpride, GNC, Cub Cadet and Zippo.

ML Rogers Hires Conway

November 18, 2008

ML Rogers, New York, has recruited Casey Conway as senior brand planner on the Scotts Miracle-Gro and Roundup accounts. She will also work on new-business efforts. Previously, she served as a senior planner at Ogilvy & Mather, most recently in Chicago, on Dove and Oscar Mayer, and before that, in New York, on Avon and Unilever food brands including Hellmann's and Wish-Bone. ML Rogers director of strategic planning James Streit said: "Conway's planning experience, focused on great brand names that are at once indulgent and down-to-earth, is ideally suited to our work with Scotts -- and especially so in this challenging economy."

Cooper Joins LevLane

LevLane in Philadelphia, has recruited Sonya Cooper as account director, responsible for the agency's Sunoco and Beneficial clients. Previously, Cooper was account director at crosstown shop 160over90, handling Nina Shoes, Aramark, AND1 and American Eagle. LevLane president David Lane said:, "Sonya Cooper's experience in developing retail brands that are 'statements' on the part of their core consumers is a terrific fit for LevLane right now as we continue to build on our expertise in creating retail-level identities for substantial, national-level products."

Draftfcb Promotes Davis to SVP

Noah Davis is among four staffers at Draftfcb's New York office that has advanced to senior vice president. Davis, a creative director, joined the Interpublic Group agency in 2000 as an art director. At the same time, Suzanne Santiago was named svp, management director; 11-year veteran Brenda Barozzi progressed to svp, director of print production; and Lisa DuJat became svp, chief human resources officer.

Jakeman Assumes CCO Title at Activision

Activision has named Brad Jakeman its first chief creative officer. He is expected to join the Santa Monica, Calif.-based gaming company in early November. In the newly created position, Jakeman will be responsible for leading global advertising, media, marketing and consumer research for all Activision franchises. He reports to Mike Griffith, president and CEO. Jakeman was previously evp of corporate marketing for Macy's, where he managed advertising, branding and creative strategy and direct marketing.

McKinney Installs O'Brien as IT Chief

McKinney has hired Trevor O’Brien as director of interactive technology. In the new position at the Durham, N.C., independent, O'Brien is expected to provide technology solutions for the agency and its clients. The Limerick, Ireland, native was previously at John Ryan International, where he served as director of technology. McKinney clients include Coldwell Banker, Gold's Gym, Major League Gaming, Nasdaq and Virgin Mobile USA.

Ray to Guide P&G at Carat

Aegis Group's Carat in New York has appointed Doug Ray evp and head of communications planning. He will lead the Procter & Gamble account in North America. Formerly svp and group director of communications planning, Ray replaces Martin Cass, who was recently promoted to president of Carat U.S. In Ray's 16 years in advertising, branding and media, he has worked with companies such as Pfizer, General Motors, Unilever, UPS and Comcast.

Studio Lambert Picks Holzman

U.K. television production company Studio Lambert has hired Eli Holzman as evp of its U.S. operation. Holzman is one of the co-founders of Miramax Television, where he created Project Runway. He was previously president of Ashton Kutcher's Katalyst Films, where he developed Beauty & the Geek.

Havas' McKinney in Durham, N.C., has enlisted Sean Jecko as senior planner. He arrives from independent Richards Group, Dallas, where he was a brand planner on Home Depot and Patron tequila, among others. Jeremy Holden, partner, evp and director of account planning, lauded Jecko's "inventive mind and a proven track record."

Niland Mortimer has become president of WPP Group's Wunderman in San Francisco. In this new role, he will leverage the collective resources of Wunderman, ZAAZ and Blast Radius, and seek out opportunities for business development. Mortimer reports to Wunderman vice chairman and COO David Sable. Mortimer was most recently evp and worldwide group management director at Draftfcb on Hewlett-Packard. He also was a partner and global brand director at Euro RSCG.

Sony Pictures Entertainment has named Dwight Caines president of worldwide digital marketing. Caines, who reports to Valerie Van Galder and Marc Weinstock, co-presidents of Columbia Pictures Worldwide Marketing Group, Culver City, Calif., joined the studio 11 years ago and rose to strategic planner and lead creative executive for digital marketing efforts, which include the movie titles as well as Crackle, Sony's online video site.
